Illegal Crossings on U.S.-Mexico Border Decline Due to Citizen Patrols

SCOTTSDALE, AZ-Chris Simcox, President of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year MCDC border volunteers are assisting border patrols in monitoring the flood of foreign nationals illegally residing in the United States who attempt to cross the U.S.-Mexico border to spend the holiday season with relatives in Mexico with the expectation that they will illegally re-cross the border again into America during January. These individuals, who violate U.S. laws when they cross the border illegally, rush back into Mexico through legal border checkpoints throughout the month of December, and usually return to the United States clandestinely after the Feast of the Epiphany in January-many returning with the intent to flood our communities with illegal drugs and contraband, and wrongfully benefit from U.S. taxpayer-funded
social services.

"We are pleased that thousands of U.S. citizens are volunteering their time to assist us in monitoring these illegal crossings year-round. Our citizen border watches have proven to serve as a deterrent to the foreign nationals who thwart our laws and threaten the security of our families, communities and nation," stated Chris Simcox, President of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps. "It is essential that the Minutemen continue to monitor our borders until we can trust our government to properly enforce our nation's laws."

The border watch activities of the MCDC are proof that our nation must be concerned with border security first, not amnesty laws set for passage by the in-coming U.S. Congress. While an estimated 12-30 million illegal aliens currently reside in the United States, many employed in a pool of slave-wage labor and drug-trafficking, most enter our country through the same gaps in our border se urity that are being exploited by individuals from enemy terrorist states seeking to cause irreparable harm to America.

Simcox continues, "It has become necessary for a self-governing and
sovereign people to take the initiative in order to secure our border, and therefore I encourage all those who can participate, to join me in our MCDC musters along the border line this holiday season."

As of this weekend, MCDC has assisted with the apprehension of 10,404
illegal aliens, and made 283 life-saving rescues of alien migrants stranded in life-threatening circumstances.

The Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is a peaceful, law-abiding
citizen-led initiative organized to stand watch at our borders, report
illegal activities to the proper authorities, and build border fencing on private lands using private donations. Additionally, MCDC seeks to urge local and federal officials to enforce our laws in order to keep our families and country safe. MCDC conducts border watch operations that assist the activities of the U.S. Border Patrol, reports employers of illegal aliens and keeps tax dollars from being used for illegal alien benefits.
