PRESIDENT CONTINUES TO ENCOURAGE GUEST WORKER PROGRAM
HOMELAND SECURITY IS ALREADY ADVOCATING AND EXECUTING HIS AMNESTY PROGRAMS
PHOENIX, AZ—The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) express outrage over yesterday’s statement by a Department of Homeland Security spokesman, and today’s remarks by President George W. Bush during a White House press conference, both of whom separately advocated for the United States to establish an amnesty program as a means to deter the illegal immigration crisis plaguing our nation. These statements were made one day after it was revealed by The Wall Street Journal that Bank of America is masking an effort to provide credit cards to illegal immigrants in 51 locations nationally, in sharp contrast to U.S. immigration policies, as a marketing campaign to the Hispanic community.
”Instead of protecting us, our elected leaders are arrogantly lying to the citizenry, duping them into believing that they are protected from violent gang members, murderers, rapist, terrorists and drug dealers – but their so-called ‘guest worker program’ invites more illegal activity,” states Chris Simcox, founder and President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps “If the Administration continues to collaborate with Corporate America and ignore this national security and illegal immigration crisis, we will end up living in a country full of lawbreakers that only benefits foreign countries and the criminals they send here.
In response to Bank of America’s credit card program for illegal immigrants, The Wall Street Journal cited Department of Homeland Security’s spokesman Russ Knocke, who believes this banking program “reinforce[s] the need for a temporary worker program.”
During today’s press conference at the White House, President George W. Bush stated, “in order to enforce the borders, we need a temporary worker program so that people don''t try to sneak in the country to work; that they can come in in [sic] an orderly fashion and take the pressure off the Border Patrol agents that we''ve got out there, so that the Border Patrol agents don''t focus on workers that are doing jobs Americans aren''t doing, but are focusing on terrorists and criminal elements, gun-runners, to keep the country -- both our countries safe -- Mexico and the United States safe.”
Simcox continues, “The President, Congress and Homeland Security Officials are responsible for the crime they allow and should be held accountable. President Bush should tear down the fence around the White House, install the virtual fence he is so fond of and replace his cabinet with ''guest workers'' to show Americans how effective such a plan would be."
The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is a peaceful, law-abiding and citizen-led initiative organized to stand watch at our borders and in our neighborhoods, report illegal activities to the proper authorities, and build border fencing on private lands using private donations. Additionally, MCDC seeks to urge local and federal officials to enforce our immigration laws in order to keep our families and country safe. MCDC conducts border watch operations that assist the activities of the U.S. Border Patrol, reports employers of illegal aliens, and advocates to keeps tax dollars from being used for illegal alien benefits.
