SEMLER RESIGNS IN WAKE OF MAYOR FUNKHOUSER’S BOW TO RACE-BASED POLITICS
ATTACKS ON GRANDMOTHER EXPOSE THE HYPOCRISY OF THE OPEN BORDERS MOVEMENT IN KANSAS CITY
PHOENIX, AZ —The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) decry the actions of Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser, who has chosen to play racial politics and cater to the bigotry of the open borders lobby, rather than support his own appointee Frances Semler. Semler, a Kansas City grandmother and a long-time civic activist who Funkhouser appointed last summer to the City’s Parks Commission, has withstood numerous physical and verbal assaults by racialists who have viciously opposed her affiliation with MCDC and its mission to restore America as a law-and-order country. font size="3">“Frances’ outstanding record of civic service represents everything that is decent, patriotic and humane about our mission to protect America’s tradition of the rule of law, and we are happy that she will now have more time to assist us as an active volunteer,” states Chris Simcox, President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. “Mayor Funkhouser is clearly running a sanctuary city in Kansas City, and rather than demonstrate some leadership by enforcing the laws, he has chosen to play racial politics like Hillary Clinton. It will backfire on him, just like it has for Senator Clinton.” The Minuteman Corps support Frances’ decision to resign in order to continue fighting the hate-filled, bigoted and racialist agenda of the open borders lobby, who seek to defame the character and destroy the morale of any individual, organization or government entity that poses a threat to their program. Their objectives are explicitly raced-based, hate-mongering and exclusionary politics of preference and selective enforcement under the law. MCDC seeks the fair and equitable enforcement of the laws of our country, for all—without fear or favor, and especially without consideration of the invidious categories of race.
Since July 2007, believing she had the support of the Mayor, Frances Semler has courageously endured vicious attacks from the ACLU, National Council of La Raza and other open-border, race-based groups who used scare tactics, threats, intimidation, and coercion in attempts to force her resignation from the Kansas City Parks Commission Board and the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. With Mayor Funkhouser’s recent duplicitous political actions and remarks, Ms. Semler has decided to step down from her appointment. Below is a summary of Frances Semler’s resignation letter from the Parks Commission Board: “Any individual or organization who speaks with concern of the impact of the well-organized invasion of illegals in this country is subjected to being called terms such as bigot or racist. Many citizens are reluctant to do so for fear of being subjected to the destruction of their character as I have been. As a United States citizen I have always felt able to express my views freely. Out of respect for the Mayor, I have allowed my voice to be stilled. No longer. Members of the City Council of Kansas City have made vicious, false, and irresponsible claims about me. One member has publicly, with arrogance, expressed her support for ‘open borders.’ It was with great enthusiasm that I accepted the responsibilities of the Kansas City Missouri Parks and Recreation Board. I do believe I have been a positive asset. There are many projects I eagerly wanted to pursue, but after reading the Mike Hendricks article in the January 17, 2008, issue of the Kansas City Star quoting the Mayor and the untrue statements made by Gloria Squitiro in a recent January publication of the Kansas City Hispanic News, I feel BETRAYED.”
