GUARDSMEN TO RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM MINUTEMEN

DOZENS OF MINUTEMEN WILL MOBILIZE IN AN EFFORT TO COMBAT INTERNATIONAL ACT OF AGGRESSION BY DRUG CARTELS

TUSCON, AZ—The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) will increase its activity today on the on the United States-Mexico Border with dozens of members expected to stand alongside National Guard troops in response to the drug cartels who last evening incited acts of aggression that caused these troops to retreat, since they have not been provided the appropriate means for defending our country.  For the last few years, MCDC members have assisted Border Patrols agents apprehend over 10,000 illegal crossers, many of whom were transporting drugs, and have since witnessed the west desert corridor become the busiest in the Tucson Sector for marijuana and contraband seizures.

“I am not at all shocked or surprised by this incursion; our President and federal government have sent these lawbreakers a message of immunity if caught, and a helping hand to accomplish their criminal goals,” stated Chris Simcox, founder and president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.  “Witness the disgraceful case of U.S. Border Patrol Agents Compean and Ramos, railroaded in American courts to prison for using lawful force in hot pursuit against an illegal alien drug smuggler!  Our nation is being overrun by the influx of illegal alien scofflaws and violent international drug cartels who show no signs of fear in crossing our border.  I call upon our federal government to do the job they were elected to do—to protect and defend these United States, and refrain from fecklessly supporting the open border advocates who would fatally compromise our national security and sovereignty.”

MCDC has been conducting border watching activities since 2002, while pressuring the President and Congress to increase funding for border patrol activities.  Due to the inaction of the President and Congress, Minutemen expanded their mission and began volunteering their time and money in order to build model sections of security fence on the United States-Mexico border.  This year with private donations from thousands of citizens nationally, MCDC will build a fence section on private land along the border with the fiber optic mesh produced by FOMGuard, USA, also currently in use on U.S. military installations, the DMZ in Korea and the West Bank in Israel.

Simcox continues: “The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has taken notice of this incursion and will no longer tolerate our federal government's refusal to secure our borders. The deployment of more National Guard is not only mandatory, it is the duty of our elected officials to enforce immigration laws and guarantee us public safety, but the Minutemen will gladly continue to volunteer their time and stand watch until our government gets its priorities straight.”

The Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is a peaceful, law-abiding and citizen-led initiative organized to stand watch at our borders, report illegal activities to the proper authorities, and build border fencing on private lands using private donations.  Additionally, MCDC seeks to urge local and federal officials to enforce our immigration laws in order to keep our families and country safe.  MCDC conducts border watch operations that assist the activities of the U.S. Border Patrol, reports employers of illegal aliens, and advocates to keep tax dollars from being used for illegal alien benefits.
