MINUTEMEN LAUNCH NATIONAL RADIO CAMPAIGN

CITIZEN ACTIVISTS CONTINUE TO DEMAND BORDER SECURITY FIRST

PHOENIX, AZ—The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) have launched a national radio campaign in order to mobilize citizens to keep expressing their deep outrage over the current amnesty legislation to members of the U.S. Congress, while all U.S. House and Senate members are in recess and visiting their home states this week.  The radio campaign, along with other efforts organized by the Minutemen, will continue until the amnesty legislation recently introduced in the U.S. Senate is completely defeated and physical border security is implemented on all of our nation’s borders.

“We are confident that our ad conveys the outrage that citizens feel at Washington’s betrayal, and we encourage voters to show up and sound off at townhall meetings with their Senators this week,” states Chris Simcox, founder and President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.  “We will keep demanding border security first until our government takes the appropriate actions.”

The advertisement can be heard this week on over 150 radio stations nationally during the following radio programs:

The text of the ad is as follows:

VOICEOVER: “AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS WILL HAPPEN SOON UNLESS YOU ACT RIGHT NOW.  PRESIDENT BUSH HAS JOINED WITH TED KENNEDY TO PUSH LEGISLATION LETTING ALL THIRTEEN MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS ALREADY IN THIS COUNTRY QUICKLY BECOME U.S. CITIZENS.  IF YOU THINK THAT’S WRONG YOU NEED TO ACT NOW.  AT MINUTEMAN HQ DOT COM YOU CAN CONTACT YOUR HOUSE MEMBER AND TWO SENATORS AND TELL THEM NOT TO REWARD LAWBREAKING. NO MORE AMNESTIES.  DON’T WAIT.  ACT NOW.  GO TO MINUTEMAN HQ DOT COM.”

The Minutemen urge citizens to continue their daily calls to all Congressional offices in order to voice their opposition to the amnesty bill, as well as to remind all Members of Congress to enforce the funding of a security fence on our nation’s borders that received passage last year in both the U.S. House and the Senate, and was signed into law by President Bush.  The funds appropriated for a fence have yet to be distributed and the Minutemen question the veracity of claims made by Washington lawmakers and bureaucrats that it will actually be spent on a physical fence, rather than a so-called “virtual fence” – and the Minutemen seek accountability as to how such a project will avoid becoming merely another Washington boondoggle.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is a peaceful, law-abiding and citizen-led initiative organized to stand watch at our borders and in our neighborhoods, report illegal activities to the proper authorities, and aid in the construction of border fencing on private lands using private donations.  Additionally, MCDC seeks to urge local and federal officials to enforce our immigration laws in order to keep our families and country safe.  MCDC conducts border watch operations that assist the activities of the U.S. Border Patrol, reports employers of illegal aliens, and advocates to keeps tax dollars from being used for illegal alien benefits.
