MINUTEMAN CORPS PAC KICKS-OFF $40,000 TV AND RADIO AD BUY TO “SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT” ABOUT 8TH CD CANDIDATES
-- A direct response to the NRCC’s interference in this race.

A PAC made up of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps members has kicked off a $40,000 Independent Expenditure effort to help former State Representative Randy Graf win the Republican Primary for the Arizona 8th Congressional District seat being vacated by incumbent Jim Kolbe.

The MCDC PAC effort is a direct response to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s decision to interfere in the primary with a $122,000 expenditure falsely claiming that candidate Steve Huffman is a conservative.

“Our effort is a direct response to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s effort to anoint a liberal candidate with a sorry history of coddling illegal aliens with government handouts and ‘free’ health care,” said MCDC founder Chris Simcox, who personally endorses Graf in a radio ad airing on 11 Tucson area stations and 5 in Cochise County.

“Graf’s taking his fight against illegal immigration to Washington. That scares a lot of powerful people and they’re flooding the airwaves with false, negative attack ads against Randy Graf,” Simcox says in the ad.

Simcox notes that Graf opposes proposals by Huffman and others allowing illegal aliens to stay in this country and become citizens and that Graf was a leader for bills such as Proposition 200, restricting government handouts for illegal aliens. Huffman strongly opposed Prop 200.

“Graf led the fight to restrict government handouts for illegals. Huffman supported them. Randy Graf supports letting police enforce immigration laws. Steve Huffman doesn’t. These are facts,” he continues.

Simcox tells listeners that “if you think the illegal alien invasion is a good thing, vote for Steve Huffman. But if you are tired of seeing our laws ignored and our national security threatened, there’s only one choice: Randy Graf – a champion for your conservative values to defend our nation’s security.”

The message behind the radio ad is echoed in a TV ad airing on Fox News throughout the Southeast Arizona district.
