AZ Operation Block Watch Kick-Off Update
Minutemen and Supporters,
WOW! What an incredible weekend Kick-Off to Operation Block Watch! Its always amazing to me to see our Minutemen Volunteers and our supporters come out and show true patriotism and passion for our Cause. Patriots gathered from such far away locations as Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Alaska.
Saturdays Rally featured Randy Graf for Congress, Rick Oltman from FAIR, Michelle Dallacroce from Mothers Against Illegal Aliens and Bill Montgomery for AZ Attorney General! As temps seared into the low 100s, we sat and listened to their thoughts on our progress, and their plan for border security. We started the event with the raising of the American Flag as our line leaders lifted the colors on a 30'' wood Tee-Pee pole created by no other than Pineapple! We thanked the AZ Leadership team in all of their efforts throughout the summer for their efforts in planning Operation Block Watch. The MCDC AZ Eagle Award was presented to Quetzal and Sandy Doty for their tireless efforts in vetting, downsizing the backlog and their sincere dedication to MCDC AZ in the admin roles.
We are happy to announce our new Phoenix Chapter Director, Don Goldwater! Don is an Original Minuteman and supporter with great passion for our movement. After a long campaign around Arizona, Don is ready to commit to Minuteman Leadership in Arizona and help push our message even further! As he so eloquently stated in his speech yesterday....."IM BAAACCCKK!!!" Welcome aboard Mr. Don Goldwater! See you on the lines!
Over the weekend, we checked in over 110 Minutemen, some new, some that come to every event. Our line operations started at 4PM, by the end of the shift we had spotted 7 with 3 detained by USBP. We located a new trail that had just passed 30-40 IAs within 2 hours of finding it. This morning, the Search & Rescue Teams were sent out in the North valley and spotted 2 new large lay-up sights with highway style traffic activity. It is clear that while the National Guard is on our border 35 miles South of our operations, illegal aliens are still managing to find ways into our nation. We are there to report that activity to USBP, and its being done.
The weather is still very warm during the daytime, and the nighttime hours bring a welcomed chill to the air. Soon, the days will begin to cool off and the nights will require cold weather gear. We invite you to come spend a day, a weekend, a month with us as we continue to stand in protest against our governments refusal to enforce our border. Come join your fellow Minuteman in the landscape!
