Happy Thanksgiving--Upcoming Muster

Dear Fellow Patriot,

It’s hard to believe the holidays are upon us already. Seems like yesterday we were wondering what 2007 would bring. Wow, It’s been a doozy of a year. As we take time to spend with our families over the next few days please say a prayer on Thanksgiving for our young (and not so young) men and women serving our country.

In a meeting with Border Patrol and National Guard last year the Commanding Officer, a full bird Colonel and two tour Iraq veteran, came up to us and thanked US for OUR service to our country. It was a heart-warming moment and not one we’ll soon forget. Please remember that while our soldiers are off in far away lands, YOU are here securing the homeland. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Ken and I visited Camp yesterday and were amazed at all the work Hugh and company have done on the Stagecoach. We are very fortunate to have all the skilled people we do, who contribute time and materials to help make our stay at the border more comfortable. Thanks to all of you. You know who you are!

Traffic has been unusually high at the border due in part to the increased need for “construction” workers in San Diego after the fires. People traffic in “The Oaks” has been high. We have a few new surprises for our unwelcome guests.

New Equipment has been donated to camp. We have (5) new 3X Adapters for the Night Vision. Any of you who had a chance to test drive this when Steve was in town knows how valuable this addition is to our efforts. We also have a new Sensor System and new security measures for Camp. Many thanks to the two “Lady Minutemen” that made this possible.

Our Next Muster is November 30th to December 2nd. For those of you planning ahead the next regularly scheduled muster after that is January 11-13th. We will be posting next years calendar on a member only page of the website shortly and will send you that web address.

There are off-muster weekends during Nov/December and with the new security measures at camp you will be able to use the equipment/radios for these unscheduled events.  If you would like to participate in one please send an email to mcdc-ca@minutemahhq.com
