August 2006 Illegal Alien Supporters Throw the First Punch

DENVER, CO (August 16th, 2006) - Supporters of illegal aliens today landed the first blow against the new Denver chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC), launching a successful preemptive attack.

Just 3 days before the first Minuteman public forum, the venue fell victim to a vicious, well organized smear campaign. The ironically-named Victory America Grill received a flood of calls accusing them of supporting a racist hate group and threatening boycotts.

Not coincidentally, the smear campaign began within hours after the MCDC public meeting was announced on Fox 31 News and the Peter Boyle radio talk show. Both shows have generally conservative audiences.

Victory America''''s management caved in to the pressure. They decided the potential revenue loss was not worth the $200 room fee. They revoked the MCDC''''s permission to use the room, leaving the Minutemen in a last minute scramble to find a suitable public meeting place.

Now that Victory America has made their decision to side with the illegal-alien supporters, it would be interesting to know how much revenue they lose from patriots who refuse to patronize the grill any longer.

This incident reveals volumes about the character of MCDC''''s opponents. The Minutemen tried to talk openly to the public to discuss their plans in Colorado. The Minutemen want to talk about applying existing law fairly and non-prejudicially, about educating employers about free federal programs, about cooperating with law enforcement to identify felons. The opponents in this debate went straight to intimidation tactics and playing the race card.

Have the Denver Minutemen done anything that could remotely be taken as racist or hateful? Impossible! They haven''''t even had a chapter meeting yet, nor taken any action in Colorado whatsoever. Now how exactly are they a racist hate group?

MCDC Colorado organizers are now scrambling to find an alternate venue in Denver, in hopes that they can still meet with the public on August 19th.
