Organizers of the new Denver chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps have moved this Saturday's organizational meeting from the Victory American Grill in downtown Denver, to the City of Greenwood Village Community Room. The meeting will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday August 19th, 2006, at 6060 South Quebec Street in Greenwood Village.
Leaders of the Denver Minuteman chapter will discuss the goals of the local chapter, the values of the organization, the standard operating procedures under which all Minuteman activities will be conducted, and the methods that will be used to combat illegal immigration in Colorado. Anyone who wants to know the truth about what the Minutemen really do is invited to attend.
The chapter was forced to change locations at the last minute when the Victory American Grill yielded to pressure from illegal-alien supporters, amidst boycott threats and accusations of racism. According to the Denver Chapter Director, "The Minutemen remain committed to educating the public, and peacefully exercising our First Amendment rights in full compliance with the letter and spirit of the law. We will not be swayed by intimidation tactics nor baseless hate speech. We regret that the Victory American Grill was the victim of such a smear campaign. We are also very disappointed at their decision to cancel our reservation with just two days' notice."
