On Saturday, February 23rd twenty of our chapter volunteers joined with the Patriots Border Alliance in Colorado Springs to demonstrate outside a Pikes Peak Regional constituents meeting held by U.S Senator Ken Salazar. Our intent was to let the Senator, and those attending, know we do not approved of the illegal alien pandering done by him and his office. Check out KOAA-TV’s “Salazar met with protestors during Springs visit” news story, and video, on their web site.
As attendees rolled in we marched along the perimeter of the parking lot, chanted our slogans, and carried signs with our issues. I have to say I was extremely pleased to hear the Senators acknowledgement of our citizen protest, saying “that group outside has their own agenda.” Of course we do. However, the differences between our agenda and that of the Senators is that we favor law enforcement and the sovereignty of our nation, where he chooses to pander to foreign nationals.
Our objective was clear, to inform the Senator and the public that we take issue with his leadership, and we succeeded. After Saturday’s peaceful protest I am charged up for a year of holding our public officials accountable for their actions, and voting records. If you were unable to make this protest consider exercising your right to assemble in one in the future, it was well worth the time.
Should you be available tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM we are protesting on the east steps of Denver City Hall. If you are interested meet give Jim Ryder a call at 303-726-7481and he will make sure you have the details. Thanks to all for attending yesterdays protest, see you Monday morning.
