The first organizational meeting for the new Connecticut Chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps was held on September 23, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Northeast Regional Director, Pete Lanteri (New York/New England) and Pennsylvania Director, Walter Adams, made their way to southern New England to instruct and inspire, and to help the fledgling chapter get off the ground.
Eight Connecticut men attended the meeting; seven were registered
and vetted Minutemen and one was interested. Several Minutemen who
could not attend have expressed interest in being at the next meeting,
and in helping in any way they can.
I, Jim Tomlinson, of Prospect, CT, volunteered to take the positions of both Acting Director and Media Director in order to get the chapter up and running. It is expected that a dedicated Media Director position will be filled at the next meeting, along with most if not all of the remaining chapter offices. A first boots on the ground operation will also be planned at that time.
The new Connecticut chapter will be putting local politicians, employers, and illegal aliens on notice that the Minuteman Civil
Defense Corps is now operating in their districts.
The next meeting of the Connecticut Chapter of the Minuteman
Civil Defense Corps will take place on October 21, 2006, at 12:00
Noon, in Glastonbury. This second meeting is being held for the
purpose of further chapter organization and event planning. Only
registered and vetted Minutemen are invited to attend.
