Maryland Weekend Update - 11/11/06

WELCOME!

...to another Maryland Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Weekend
Update. We will be using these Updates to keep you informed of
MMCDC activities, and to give you practical suggestions on things
you can do about the growing problem of illegal aliens in Maryland.

All information about MMCDC activities in this Update is public, so
feel free to forward it to friends and family as concerned as you are
about illegal immigration.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!
Please take a moment to consider the many sacrifices made by our
brave men and women in uniform over the centuries to keep America
free and strong. Whether you realize it or not, YOU are a soldier on
the frontlines of the war against illegal immigration. Nobody is
asking you to risk life or limb, just to give a little of your time,
energy and money to help stop the foreign invasion that threatens to
wipe out what our ancestors fought and died to create. Sign up
today - 301-741-4081 or mmcdc@comcast.net

GAITHERSBURG THROWS IN THE TOWEL!
Gaithersburg City Council has told Montgomery County that it has
given up trying to find a location for an illegal laborer center.
While this is certainly good news, it is still possible the County
will try to find a location. Stay tuned!

NATIONAL ELECTIONS NOT SO BAD
The "thumping" taken by the Republicans last Tuesday has some anti-
illegal alien activists depressed and ready to quit. But things are
really not so bad...

1) The truth is that after the elections, many liberal Republicans
would probably have rolled and "compromised" with the President on
amnesty for illegal aliens anyway. So we still would have had a fight
on our hands.

2) Despite what you might hear from the liberal media, the American
people did NOT vote for amnesty and open borders on November 7th.
While we lost some good friends, only 6 of the 104 members of the
House Immigration Caucus were defeated. Many Democrats who won on
Tuesday ran on very tough anti-illegal platforms. And strong anti-
illegal alien initiatives were passed in Arizona and Colorado.
Clearly, anger over mismanagement of the Iraq war was more important
to most Americans than illegal immigration, but that does not mean
they are in favor of amnesty and unsecure borders.

3) If the Democrats give Bush an amnesty/guest worker bill to sign in
2007, the voter backlash will be stunning. This could be the straw
that finally breaks the camel's back and makes illegal immigration
America's NUMBER ONE ISSUE. Remember, time is not on our side. Every
year, millions of illegal aliens' "anchor babies" get closer to
voting age. Better to fight the fight in 2007 than 2017.

PROFESSOR NEEDS A LESSON IN TRUTH
On November 3rd, the Georgetown University "Hoya" newspaper quoted
professor of anthropology Denise Brennan as saying the Minuteman
Civil Defense Corps, "...advocates taking up arms and shooting
immigrants that cross the border."

This is blatantly wrong. Either Brennan is ignorant of the Minuteman
code of conduct, or she is purposefully libeling our group! Either
way, this is not the sort of behavior you'd expect from a college
professor.

Contact Professor Brennan and set her straight:
