...to the latest Maryland Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Weekend Update. We use these Updates to keep you informed of MMCDC activities, and to give you practical suggestions on things you can do about the growing problem of illegal aliens in Maryland.
All information about MMCDC activities in this Update is public, so feel free to forward it to friends and family as concerned as you are about illegal immigration.
The "lame duck" session of the 109th Congress ended without any late-night amnesties or expansion of guest worker programs. According to Tom Tancredo's immigration caucus, this was because of the enormous heat ordinary citizens like YOU put on their representatives. Don't lose heart -- your phone calls, faxes and letters do work. Keep them up when the new Congress returns.
TURN IN EMPLOYERS WHO HIRE ILLEGAL ALIENS!
Believe it or not, reports are starting to come in from all over the country that ICE is suddenly interested in learning about employers who hire illegal aliens. We are hearing that citizens who report employers who knowingly are hiring illegal aliens, are getting a good response. The new number to call to report employers who are knowingly hiring quantities of illegal aliens is (toll free): 1-866-DHS-2-ICE Apparently, after years of ignoring our calls it appears that the agency is putting on a new face, perhaps, for the new Congress. Whether this new initiative will be long-term or short-lived is anybody's guess. But the time to make those calls is now.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY WAKES UP!
Prince William County Supervisor Wally Covington has asked county agencies to research the financial impact of illegal aliens and report back to him by January 16. He plans to bill the federal government.
Thanks to everyone who turned out for last Sunday's MMCDC Open Meeting. We shared a lot of good information and ideas, and started planning for 2007 operations. Next spring's operations are going to require a lot of manpower (and womanpower, too!) so if you are not already a vetted member (i.e. trained and cleared to participate in MMCDC operations), then call 301-741-4081 or email firstname.lastname@example.org so you can get vetted during the winter downtime.
Here's an easy New Year's resolution. Before the end of December, buy one package of fifty 4"x6" ruled index cards, and fifty $0.24 postcard stamps. Every week in 2007, we'll give you a new address of someone to write to about stopping illegal immigration. For less than $15.00 you can engage in a year's worth of activism!
FREE RAMOS & COMPEAN!
Border Patrol agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos were unfairly railroaded by federal prosecutors for shooting a drug smuggler fleeing back into Mexico. Our own government went into Mexico to find the wounded narco-terrorist and grant him immunity for testifying against our agents. Plus, at least three jurors now say they were coerced into voting guilty. Now Compean is in jail for 12 years and Ramos for 11. Clearly, the federal government now cares more about the welfare of foreign criminals than they do the brave men and women who must make split-second, life-or-death decisions on the border!
Contact President Bush and demand that he immediately pardon these two innocent men:
