Maryland Weekend Update - 12/22/06

...to the Holiday Editor of the Maryland Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Weekend Update. We use these Updates to keep you informed of MMCDC activities, and to give you practical suggestions on things you can do about the growing problem of illegal aliens in Maryland.

All information about MMCDC activities in this Update is public, so feel free to forward it to friends and family as concerned as you are about illegal immigration.

(And Happy Hanukkah!) We at MMMCDC hope you will take a little time off from your activism to spend time with family and friends this holy season. Think about the quality of life and rich cultural traditions going back 300 years that we Americans hold so dear. And resolve that in 2007 you will work twice as hard to protect these things from unlawful and unwanted foreign invasion!

MMCDC is gearing up for a Spring offensive to root out corrupt Maryland businesses that hire illegal workers. We need some volunteers to do research and put the information into a database. This is ideal for people who want to get actively involved in MMCDC
activities, but cannot or do not wish to participate in field operations. The job will involve making local phone calls and entering data into an Excel spreadsheet. If you can volunteer
several hours a week for the next month, email mmcdc@comcast.net or call 301-741-4081 and leave a message you want to volunteer for "Project Toro."

President Bush has put "comprehensive immigration reform" at the top of his agenda when the 110th Congress convenes next month. That is a code-word for massive amnesties for illegal aliens and even more massive guest-worker programs to drive down American wages and create millions more "anchor babies."

Contact President Bush and tell him you don't want to hear any talk of amnesty or guest-workers until we secure our borders and enforce the immigration laws already on the books:

President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington DC 20500

Comment Line: 202-456-1111
Fax: 202-456-2461

Call, write, email or fax EVERY DAY. Given the volume of calls and letters, the White House can't possibly remember you. If you call 10 days in a row, that's the same impact as 10 people calling once! Get your friends and family to call, too!

Call, write and fax the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and your Congressional representatives and tell them you want to see MORE enforcement of our immigration laws like the recent raids on Swift meatpacking plants. Not only were nearly 1,300 illegal aliens caught, but another 400 quit when they got wind of the raids.
Hundreds of Americans lined up at each plant to take their jobs, too, showing that there's no such thing as a job Americans won't do. And now eighteen former employees who worked at Swift & Co. have filed a $23 million RICO lawsuit alleging that the meat packing company conspired to manipulate and depress the labor market and wages by
hiring illegal immigrants.

Email the United Way of Weld County (Colorado) and tell them how shocked you are that they are collecting money to help illegal aliens put out of work when ICE raided their Swift & Co. plant. Instead of abetting criminal foreigners who are breaking our laws and stealing jobs from Americans, maybe they could be helping the families of people killed by illegal alien drunk drivers or helping with the reconstruction of the Gulf Coast.

Send your email to:

UWWC@unitedway-weld.org and info@firstcall211.org.

And be sure to copy Sheila Consaul, the Director of Media Relations
at the National United Way HQ:

Here's an easy New Year's resolution. Before the end of December, buy one package of fifty 4"x6" ruled index cards, and fifty $0.24 postcard stamps. Every week in 2007, we'll give you a new address of someone to write to about stopping illegal immigration. For less than $15.00 you can engage in a year's worth of activism!

Put MMCDC on your holiday gift-giving list. MMCDC depends on generous volunteers like you. Please help defray photocopying and mailing costs by sending your donation (big or small) to: MMCDC, 554 N. Frederick Avenue #155, Gaithersburg MD 20877.

"I am concerned for the security of our great nation, not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within." -- General Douglas MacArthur.
