As director of the Ozarks Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, I'm writing in regards to the Jan. 31 letter written by Bill Walker ("Please support Senate bill") and the visit of Alfonso Aguilar, because they both deal with illegal immigration.
First, since its establishment, the Ozarks MCDC chapter has worked to address the problem caused by the influx of illegal aliens to this area. We are in the process of gathering information on how much illegals cost our schools, our health care systems and law enforcement. Once complete, the information will be made available to the public, and they will decide what action to take. We agree the problem is a big one and needs to be dealt with. That's one reason why our state director, Tom Franiak, has been in Jefferson City meeting with our elected officials like Sen. Koster and others, to encourage them to support bills like SB348. That's why Franiak has traveled the state to encourage other MCDC chapters such as those in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Joplin to lend their support as well. We are taking action, and we will continue to take action as long as there is a threat from the unassimilated to the American life!
