This is a report of the NH chapter border watch operation of Oct 7-8. Five Minutemen participated including two from Vermont. Operations commenced at 9:30 AM Saturday in the Pittsburg area and continued late into the evening. Temperature ranged from 75 during the day to 34 at night. We set up our observation area on private land, but with the permission of the owner.
The only observation of significance was a very bright meteorite crossing the northern sky. We used the new night vision equipment provided by headquarters but with limited success since there was a very bright full harvest moon. This was our first night operation and thus provided training in working in the dark and cold as well as in using night vision equipment.
The operation concluded successfully on Sunday. There were no sightings of illegal activity. We had some hunters come by and gave one of them an application.
Our next border watch Operation will be on Oct 21-22. Any Minuteperson is welcome to join us. Minuteman Marty Hewson (email@example.com) will be our site manager and should be contacted directly for instruction and directions.
