Simcox to Speak at OKRA Convention

Well, the ink is dry on the filing papers and campaigns are officially started all over the state.

OKRA will be participating in that process with our endorsing conventions.  The statewide races and races for Congress will be held at the State Convention which will be held on June 17th at the State Capitol.

The OKRA State Endorsing Convention will be for all of the State except for the two areas listed above.  It will be held in the State House Chambers at the Capitol on North Lincoln on Saturday June 17th.  Registration will begin promptly at 8am and the convention and candidate presentations will begin at 9am.  We expect the convention to run until we break for lunch at approximately 11:45 and then reconvene at 1pm for two hours of voting and then we will have our keynote speaker carry us to about 4pm at which time we will adjourn.  You must enter the Capitol from the West side through the doors at the green awning and clear through security before proceeding to the 4th floor.

Our keynote speaker this year is a must hear for anyone interested in national sovereignty and public safety.  He is Chris Simcox and he is the founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.  His group has been the people manning the border helping our border agents locate subversives illegally entering our country.  I heard him earlier this year at another event and he is a great speaker with a ton of knowledge and even more conviction.  This is the expected speaking schedule but since we do not know the number of candidates who will be addressing the convention you should come early and expect to stay.

Any member of OKRA is eligible to vote for the endorsements and you can join at the door for $15 per person or $25 for every registered Republican in your family.  We will be having lunch of pizza and cold drinks in the 2nd floor rotunda for $5 and everyone is invited to attend.  You can register for the convention without joining OKRA at the front desk but you will have to sit in the balcony – the registration fee will be $15.  All registered members will have seats on the House floor, first come first served (there are 100 seats).

All candidates will be allowed 3 minutes to address the crowd and should be present at 9am to start the day – and we will have a time keeper!  We will be starting with Congressional candidates and then State wide candidates then House then Senate candidates.  When we start the endorsing debates – any member of OKRA can make a 1 minute statement of support for any candidate they wish.  County candidates will not be speaking and should talk to me about endorsements in County primaries because time will not allow everyone to speak and the Board can make endorsements with 2/3 of the vote of the board.
