The plight of U.S. Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos & Jose Compean is in the news daily. With each new revelation, it becomes more clear that these two patriots have been railroaded by an administration eager to send a message to the men & women who put their lives on the line daily to protect our country from illegal invasion.
The message is "Don't attempt to do your jobs with dedication, or you will be severely punished!"
Tens of thousands of Americans have communicated their outrage to the President over the unjust incarceration of these two men, and many Congressional Representatives have written the White House asking for a review of their sentences.
As you know, the Washington State Minutemen have made a committment to rally in support of Agents Ramos & Compean on the 4th Saturday of each month until justice is done.
This is a plea to all of you to attend our first rally in support of the U.S. Border Patrol and Agents Ramos & Compean to be held in Blaine, WA. commencing at 10:00 A.M. on the morning of Saturday, February 24th.
We have signed on with American Freedom Riders to take part in this national demonstration of support for the men & women of the U.S. Border Patrol.
All citizens are welcome to participate with us at the rally site. Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors!
We will begin at 9:00 A.M. with an initial muster at Camp Standing Bear (address and directions below ). From there we will carpool to the Rally location.
This first rally will be held just off of "H" Street, just East of SR 543 ( the truck border crossing route) in the Cost Cutter parking lot, in full view of Border Patrol's facilities on H St.
Our plan is to also conduct our usual monthly Border Vigil over this same weekend, thus allowing Washington Minutemen the flexibility to spend some of their time on the 24th at the Rally and some of their time standing on post along the border.
The hard working, patriotic men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol have been totally supportive and appreciative of our efforts along the Canadian Border, and we feel that we must bring to the attention of the American people the plight of agents Ramos & Compean.
Quoting Danny Smith of American Freedom Riders, "The implications of this fight go far beyond the treatment of agents Ramos & Compean. At stake here is the ability of all Border Patrol Agents to effectively enforce our immigration laws without fear of prosecution! Having talked to a lot of agents, it is clear that they have been forcd into a passive mode of conduct."
Please go to the above website for American Freedom Riders for more details and for some excellent ideas for signs in their photo gallery.
We will need lots of signs and lots of flags!
See you at Camp Standing Bear at 9:00 A.M. on the 24th.
If you cannot be at HQ at 9:00 A.M., go directly to the rally site at 10:00 A.M.
